Right around this time last year, I discovered the world of cleansing oils. At first, I was skeptical. Cleansing oil sounded like an oxymoron to me. And, didn’t I spend my entire youth trying to avoid having oil on my face? Alas, as I have gotten older, my skin has gotten drier and drier… and drier. So, when I tried cleansing oil for the first time I was oh-so-happily-surprised. Just one year later, I am a facial cleansing oil connoisseur!
One new product I had the opportunity to test recently is LAVO Facial Cleansing Oil. This product doubles as a makeup remover (even for waterproof mascara), as well as a facial cleanser. And, it provides much-needed moisture to my winter-parched skin.
LAVO’s Facial Cleansing Oil deep cleans and quickly strips away all makeup, sunscreen, foundation, BB cream, and powder. It even works on heavy duty stage and pageant makeup like Dermablend. But, it’s incredibly gentle and can be used every day, even on sensitive skin.
It has a very light texture, but you’ll only need a few drops. I have been using this twice a day since before Christmas and have barely made a dent in my bottle. The folks at LAVO claim that a 6 oz. bottle will last for at least 200+ uses and I think that is right on target!
But, the best part is that LAVO’s Facial Cleansing Oil will not clog pores and leaves skin gorgeously silky soft, with absolutely no greasy residue. Skin feels wonderful!
LAVO’s Facial Cleansing Oil contains a blend of pure organic oils including Safflower Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (from Coconut Oil), Avocado Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Chamomile Oil, Lavender Oil, and Rosemary Leaf Oil. Plus, there is no mineral oil, no harsh chemicals, and no Parabens.
Using it is a little different than using a regular face cleanser. First you pour a few drops of oil onto fingers and massage onto dry skin for 30-60 seconds. Then, add warm water to face and massage for an additional 30 seconds. The oil will instantly emulsify into a milky cleanser. Rinse and voila! Gorgeous, soft skin, without a trace of makeup.
