Quite a few years ago, I was introduced to the world of cleansing oils. Understandably, I was skeptical. Hadn’t I spent my entire youth trying to eliminate all the oil from my face? “Cleansing oil” sounded like a bit of an oxymoron to me.
However, I am not 18 anymore. And, as I have gotten older, my skin has gotten drier and drier… and drier. So, when I tried cleansing oil for the first time, I was oh-so-happily-surprised. Now, years later, I feel I am something of a cleansing oil connoisseur. One product I am absolutely devoted to is DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (I just got another bottle recently). This replaces my former fave (the late, great LAVO, which is no longer available).
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil works as a makeup remover (even for waterproof mascara), as well as a facial cleanser. And, it provides much-needed daily moisture to my parched skin.
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil deep cleans and quickly strips away all makeup, sunscreen, foundation, BB cream, and mineral makeup. It even works on heavy duty stage / pageant / photography makeup like Il Makiage and Dermablend! But, it’s incredibly gentle and can be used every day, even on highly sensitive skin, like mine.
This oil has a very light texture, but you’ll only need a few drops (one pump) for each use. Looking through my last four Amazon orders, I seem to average one 7.7 oz bottle every 9-10 months (there are other sizes, but this size is the best value).
What makes DHC oil so special? This virgin olive-oil based facial cleanser also contains rosemary leaf oil and Vitamin E for a unique blend that will not clog pores and leaves skin gorgeously silky soft, with absolutely no greasy residue. My skin feels wonderful.
If you’ve never used cleansing oil before, the process is a little different than when using a regular face cleanser. First you pour a few drops of oil onto fingers and massage onto dry skin for 30-60 seconds. Then, add warm water to face and massage for an additional 30 seconds. The oil will instantly emulsify into a milky cleanser. Rinse and voila! Gorgeous, soft skin, without a trace of makeup. Retail: $30.49
