I love to decorate for the holidays… any holidays. But, with one child just graduated from college, one currently a junior with imminent plans for grad school, and one who just started at Georgetown, pricey decor is out of my budget for the foreseeable future!
So, I’ve learned to get creative with thrift shop finds, “shopping” and updating my existing decor, and unearthing remnants of craft projects past. And, I have a slew of new projects this year (more on those in a later post).
But, this spring I have one new addition that I simply could not resist. The object of my affection? A burlap pennant banner!
No matter what the “decorating experts” say, one quick visit to Pinterest show that burlap is still hot. Bursting onto the DIY scene about 2009, burlap immediately became a go-to for almost any craft project. And, like Mason jars, I admit that burlap did get a bit overdone. But, if your home has that Joanna Gaines country vibe, you simply can’t go wrong with a little burlap.
And, the burlap pennant banner by Sea Shore Brides, shown, is a perfect way to add a bit of casual country flair to any home – for holidays or every day.
The burlap pennant banner from Sea Shore Brides contains 13 plain, individual triangular pennants. The Etsy shop offers other options (hearts, stars, even seahorses!) which are perfect for birthdays, weddings, and more. But, I liked the plain, so I could use it for all sorts of parties and holidays.
The length of entire banner is approximately 8 ft. So, I cut it to use it in two places and maximize the effect. But, since Sea Shore Brides is an Etsy shop and the banners are all handmade, you can also special order larger sizes, as needed. If you are decorating a large space, such as a wedding venue, you can get exactly what you need, without having to piece anything together.
The banner retails for just $8.00 on Sea Shore Brides. It’s so affordable, I still have money left for all that college tuition…
