One of the best parts of living on the East Coast is that we get to experience all four seasons. While I may occasionally gripe about the mountains of snow in winter or blistering heat in summer, I do love the beautiful fall foliage and the excitement of new shoots and flowers in spring.
I also enjoy decorating for each season (and each holiday — major and minor — if I am honest). That means a minor home overhaul each season.
In fall, there are branches, pheasant feathers, and gourds. In winter, the entire house gets the full-on Christmas treatment. For spring, I go a little crazy with birdhouses, nests, and bunnies. And in summer, although my house is landlocked, it becomes a “beach house!”
To add beachy style (and make me long for a weekend trip to the shore, which is an easy drive away) I use seashells and beach-inspired accessories gathered over a lifetime.
If you don’t have shells and accessories that you’ve been collecting since you were in the fourth grade, don’t despair. Adding coastal style is as simple as adding a few well-chosen accessories.
And this season, designers don’t disappoint! I’ve showcased a few beautiful accessories above that will instantly inspire that coastal style and beach vacation feeling. These simple neutrals can easily be incorporated into any home style.
Now, I’m ready to hit the beach!
