My family just returned from the Firefly Musical Festival. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the event, it’s the East Coast’s Coachella – basically four days of non-stop music from A-list bands and artists ranging from popular Cage the Elephant, to legendary Paul McCartney. I say that my family returned because I opted not to go. Camping is the order of the day and anyone who knows me understands that a 3-star hotel is my idea of camping!
They returned home both filthy from mud (several days of torrential downpours + 90,000 people) and sunburned (when the heavens weren’t opening up, the sun burned fiercely all day). But, I was prepared!
I knew that they would be in desperate need of some pampering and (at bare minimum) a decent shower since the “showers” at Firefly cost $5 and are ice cold. So, I spent yesterday getting ready. The bathroom was cleaned immaculately from top to bottom, I purchased a new tub mat and shower curtain, set out piles of fluffy white towels, and then picked up the softest, cushiest, memory foam bathroom rugs ever.
But best of all, this week I received samples of two new soaps from OrganicGOLD which arrived just in time for their return. Heaven!
First, the OrganicGOLD Virgin Coconut Oil Coffee Soap Scrub is a handmade soap with natural exfoliants for the removal of dirt and dead skin cells – perfect for sloughing off the accumulated grime of several days of concert-going!
It’s effective on even the roughest patches of dry summer skin. But, because it’s quite abrasive, I would not suggest use directly on the most delicate skin of the face and neck.
The coffee is what makes this bar unique. I had never heard of soap with coffee in it, but coffee has actually become a sought-after exfoliant used by luxury spa, wellness, and beauty centers around the world! And, the coffee aroma (which is pleasant but never overwhelming) also promotes positive emotions and powers up brain activities. Retail $11.99
Next, the OrganicGOLD Virgin Coconut Oil Moringa Soap Scrub is a much milder soap that works wonders on tender sunburn. Rich in antioxidants, it is made from pure virgin coconut oil and the Moringa plant which has antibacterial, antifungal, and antimicrobial properties.
It’s excellent for hydrating, moisturizing, and softening skin. And, unlike other oils or products filled with artificial ingredients, this moisturizing soap won’t clog pores. Retail $11.99
OrganicGOLD is committed to providing simple, effective, natural and organic products like the Coffee Soap Scrub and the Moringa Soap Scrub – the types of products you would find in a high end spa – right to the consumer. OrganicGOLD has a whole line of amazing organic skincare products like Aloe Vera & Chamomile soap, Avocado & Papaya soap, and Deep Penetrating Facial Serum. The OrganicGOLD line is available at fine retailers, boutiques and salons nationwide.
Now that they are all home, scrubbed, exfoliated, and moisturized, I need to go clean the bathroom again. Sigh…
