Downton Abbey Soap: THE Gift For Anglophiles

Downton Abbey Soap: A Special Gift For The AnglophileAlthough my family is from the UK, I was a little late to the Downton Abbey (tea) party. While the series premiered in 2010, I have only recently become a convert and wait as impatiently as the rest of the country for each new installment!

If you want to bring a little bit ‘o Britain home, now you can, with the Downton Abbey beauty line, available at Marks & Spenser. In addition to nail polish, lip gloss, lotion and scented candles, there is glorious Downton Abbey soap delicately scented with freesia and mandarin, with subtle vanilla undertones.

I received these lovely soaps over the holidays as a much-appreciated gift from my cousin who lives about 15 minutes from Highclere Castle.  Highclere, the 5,000-acre estate in Hampshire and the seat of Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, is the “real” Downton Abbey and is every bit as stunning in person as it is on the screen (pictured below).

These lovely soaps make me feel just a little closer to the Abbey… and are worthy of any peer of the realm!
