Safari Inspired Fashion for Spring

I am still scratching my head over this one. For Spring, Michael Kors’ ready-to-wear line contains entirely safari inspired fashion – from multi-pocketed khaki, to enormous ethnic jewelry, to leather fanny packs (yes, it’s true!).

Apparently, Kors recently took a vacation to Singita Lebombo Lodge in South Africa, inspiring the collection. But, after fall’s cowboy extravaganza, I thought Kors would return to his thoughtful, sophisticated and honest design. Sadly, the costume party continues, including a runway show filled with over-the-top, unwearable pieces.

This is not to say that I don’t appreciate the lure of Out of Africa safari inspired fashion. So, below, I’ve highlighted some more realistic pieces to bring this look to life (real life, that is!).

Safari inspired fashion that's as wearable as it is beautiful

  • Shoes (£50 – office.co.uk)
  • Marc by Marc Jacobs stackable jewelry ($68 – bloomingdales.com)
  • Fendi leopard print scarf (€179 – pret-a-beaute.com Ami accessories)
  • BROWN (£68 – matchesfashion.com)
