Inspiring print by Craft Street Design is a beautiful, meaningful graduation gift

What_if_I_fall_grandeMy youngest child is graduating from high school in June and I frequently catch myself wondering where on earth the time has gone! She is headed to Georgetown University in the fall and is understandably a little bit nervous.

She is not, however, the type to shrink from a challenge. And, when I saw this print by Craft Street Design, I knew it would be a meaningful, beautiful graduation gift for her. When she hangs it in her dorm room, she will always be reminded that her family knows that she can fly!

The print itself is of the highest quality (a fact that she will no doubt appreciate, having spent an entire year learning the subtleties of carving linoleum blocks and ink rolling in Printmaking Class). And, Craft Street Design has used only the best ink and premium, acid-free archival paper.

The fact that each print is handmade makes it even more special. Craft Street Design creates each design by hand first, then the final design is digitized. Inspiration is drawn from by traditional calligraphy, magazine typography, Scandinavian design, vintage drawings, and even subway art!

And, although the print is elegantly simple, each design actually takes between 10-80 hours to make.

I think that this print is not only beautifully made, but so inspirational! In fact, Craft Street Design’s founder Pratima Aravabhoomi researched and found that some of the most successful people (like Oprah Winfrey) surround themselves with meaningful quotes in order to focus on the important things in their lives.

And, just like Oprah, I admit, I have quite a few quotes in my home – on chalkboard, on wood planks, on stretched canvas, and even on vinyl stencils directly applied to the wall. (Of course, I can always make room for more!)

The “Fly” print is priced at just $13 (frame not included). So, if you have a grad at home, or just have some graduation parties to attend, these would make amazing gifts.
