Clothes are an investment – not just financially, but also in terms of the time you’ve dedicated to finding just the right little black dress, the perfect cardigan, or those amazing pants that make you look 15 pounds thinner! Luckily, taking care of that investment is easy… if you have the right tools. Mine include a clothing shaver for pesky balls that appear on sweaters, an extra strength lint roller, and my new fave, a silicone coated ironing board cover by Epica.
If you dislike the hassle of ironing, a silicone coated ironing board cover will change your mind. The silicone coated surface and extra-thick padding makes ironing easier, faster and safer.
First, a tough silicone coating handles high heat easily. So you can turn up the temp as high as you like and bid farewell to scorching, sticking and stubborn wrinkles.
For example, 100% cotton tablecloths have long been my personal nemesis. I absolutely love the look of crisp, white cotton, but getting a large tablecloth ironed properly was always next to impossible.
Now, I can use the highest temperature setting, plus the steam function, for a truly professional looking result. The silicone cover doesn’t absorb water droplets or spray starch, so the iron literally glides over the surface. No more bunching, clumping, or actually creating new wrinkles as I iron!
Next, the silicone coating doesn’t attract lint. At the end of every winter, I hand wash and block all of my sweaters before I put them away. With an old cloth ironing board cover, the fabric would pick up sweater fibers from one piece and deposit them on the next without a lint roller application in between.
No longer!
The silicone covered ironing board cover simply does not attract or hold lint. My chore is done is less time and with much better results.
And, the silicone coating actually reflects heat, so ironing is done faster. It’s almost like ironing both sides of your garment at once. No more flipping and then flipping again (and sometimes again!).
Finally, the thick, integrated padding and secure Velcro means that clothes won’t bunch or shift as you iron them. For me, this has always been a problem, especially with the inseams of pants and the underarms of sleeves.
Although the Epica Silcone Coated Ironing Board cover won’t actually do the work for you (I wish!), it makes ironing far less frustrating. Available on Amazon.
