There was a time when every new Easter outfit was topped with a beautiful spring hat for a finished look. And, I am happy to say that time has returned! Easter hats this spring are bigger and better than ever. And, Easter is the perfect opportunity to indulge in a fantasy confection like one of those pictured.
Wondering where to start?
If budget is no issue, then one of the best milliners alive today is Philip Treacy. Treacy is well-known for his memorable (and occasionally over-the-top) designs. He is a favorite of many celebrities and even England’s royal family.
My own hats generally are sourced locally (That’s Hats in Chadds Ford, PA, recently closed, and much missed, was one of the best). But, you can also shop at all major department stores. Macy’s offers some very affordable, but lovely options including many selections from August Hats, as well as practical, packable versions by Nine West.
Etsy also has a vast selection of amazing hats by incredibly talented artisans. One of my favorites is QESC, which offers classic sinamay hats (a natural straw fabric made from abaca fibers) and jaunty fascinators.
Hats off to Easter!
