Spring is just days away and I am busy getting ready. I’ve pulled all of the boxes of birdhouses, nests, and festive spring decor from the garage. And this weekend, I am happily culling, editing, and updating my spring decorations. While I will be busy creating vignettes and tablescapes, and hanging rustic burlap bunting, the very first items I need to tackle are spring wreaths for the front and back doors.
Nothing shouts “Welcome Spring!” like a lovely wreath on the door. But, my bright red door limits my color palette, especially in spring. So, I turn to neutrals for a simple, chic, and oh-so-welcoming look. And, I’ve showcased a few of my favorite ideas, above.
Make your own spring wreaths
Rather than purchase a pre-made wreath, however, you can also make your own. Grapevine wreaths are an inexpensive base and are widely available at local craft stores such as Michael’s Crafts. They are also simple to personalize. Just add flowers, ribbons, decor items such as birdhouses, bunnies, or nests – whatever speaks to you.
Preserved boxwood is pricier and maybe a little unconventional. But, boxwood is stunning and not just for Christmas. It can quickly be adapted to other holidays or seasons, by simply changing out ribbon. Other green neutrals for spring wreaths include fern, ivy, and pine (yes, pine).
And, if you are so inclined, Etsy is filled with beautiful options for wooden monograms. Prices range from $10 – $75, depending on size and complexity. Whatever style spring wreath you choose, spring is almost here. Hooray!
