Trudy Miller Layers: Another Day, Another Style

Trudy Miller Layers, fashion trendI was first introduced to Trudy Miller Layers in the spring of 2010. Instantly, I knew that I loved the deceptively simple, wonderfully comfortable, and fabulously stylish apparel. What I didn’t know was that the pieces I received that spring would still be useful, stylish, and popular today.

In this age of “disposable fashion” that’s more than a bit unheard of. But, it’s true. And, that’s because all of the pieces in the collection can combined and worn in a huge variety of ways.

Trudy Miller Layers, fashion trendThe pieces are a little like fabric origami. Starting with a simple shape, you drape, shape, and twist until you achieve the desired effect. Each piece converts into many unique looks. You choose the one that’s the most flattering and appealing to you… today. But, tomorrow, you can choose a completely different way to make it yours!

A perfect example is the new Wild Rose (Kimono Dragon). This piece has a seemingly endless array of sleeve and neckline variations. It can be worn as several different stand-alone dresses. Or, it can be converted into a tunic to pair with leggings, jeans, capris, or a mini skirt. You can even layer it over a tube top, tank, or long sleeve tee. Retail $150

Another favorite is the Jasmine, pictured. It’s a wrap. It’s a shrug. It’s a cowl. It’s a halter. It’s amazing.  This piece will take you everywhere, from hot to cold climates, in style.  Create fabulous sleeve or sleeve-free variations in just a few simple moves.  Retail $95

Finally, the piece that started it all, for me, is the Angelica (Frilly Belt) although that’s a complete misnomer. This little slip of fabric is actually a big wardrobe enhancer, doing triple-duty as a fabulous top (my fave!), whittling the waist as a chic belt, or adding a shot of color to a plain dress. Retail $48

The wrinkle free jersey fabric, easy care, and adaptability of all Trudy Miller Layers make them travel essentials this Spring Break. One piece that converts into three or four or five different outfits? Just think how light your suitcase will be!
