Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez has a glam sense of Hollywood style that causes a stir wherever she goes. Really, who can forget the green chiffon Versace dress (aka a wardrobe-malfunction-waiting-to-happen) from the Grammy Awards in 2000? But, when she arrived at the Grammy Awards this year, she literally stole the show. That’s because Lopez chose a stunning lavender confection from Ralph & Russo – straight off the runway.
Ralph & Russo is the first and only British house to be elected by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture to show its collection on the official schedule at Paris Haute Couture Week, alongside familiar brands such as Chanel, Dior and Valentino.
But, unlike those venerable old brands, Ralph & Russo actually just burst onto the fashion scene in 2007, founded by Tamara Ralph (Creative Director) and Michael Russo (CEO). And, within a very short time, Ralph & Russo was firmly established as one of the world’s fashion houses.
Ralph & Russo operates maisons in both Paris and London. But, there is also a boutique within the iconic British department store Harrods. Opened its 2014, the retail boutique offers an exquisite selection of couture pieces, shoes, accessories and furs.
I’ve highlighted a few of my favorite Ralph & Russo looks for Spring/Summer above. The level of craftsmanship rivals Badgley Mischka or Marchesa, both widely celebrated for the highest level of detail in beading and embroidery. And, I simply love the unabashedly feminine feel.
