Revitalize with Greenery, Pantone’s Color of the Year 2017

Greenery, Pantone Color of the Year 2017, is easy to wear

By now, you probably know that Greenery has been named the 2017 Pantone Color Of The Year. The Color of the Year is a symbolic color selection; a sort of color snapshot of our global culture. The folks at Pantone chose “Greenery” as a symbol of new beginnings.

And, what could be more appropriate for early days of the New Year? With snow just outside my window and temps dipping below 20 degrees at night, I could definitely use a little more green in my life!

Unlike regal emerald or sassy lime, Greenery is a particular yellow-green shade that evokes tender leaves on the first days of spring. Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute explains, “This is the color of hopefulness, and of our connection to nature. It speaks to what we call the ‘re’ words: regenerate, refresh, revitalize, renew. Every spring we enter a new cycle and new shoots come from the ground. It is something life affirming to look forward to.”

Above, I have showcased just a few ways to incorporate this new hue into your wardrobe. According to Harper’s BAZAAR, “the color Greenery has already made appearances on the Spring 2017 runways, standing out in the collections of designers like Balenciaga and Sies Marjan… so get ready to reconnect with nature in 2017!”
