Liquid Chalk Markers: EASY Chalkboard Projects

Liquid Chalk Markers: Chalkboard Projects Made EasyMy husband loves to cook and for our annual holiday party, he has a tendency to go a little overboard. This year we served not only a traditional leg of lamb, a smoked turkey breast, and two magnificent prime rib roasts, we also had a venison roast. Plus, that doesn’t include the seven delicious vegetable and side dishes and half-dozen types of hors-d’oeuvres!

Since the spread is so vast, I generally set out place cards on the buffet and hors-d’oeuvres tables, so that our guests will know that the mushroom gravy was made with truffle butter or that the asparagus smothered in hollandaise sauce also contains pine nuts.

Usually, I purchase pretty, pre-packaged place cards from a local stationery store. But, this year, I decided to make my own.

Like many of you, I have become something of a Pinterest addict and the DIY chalkboard craze is a look that I really love. So, I made simple fold over cards from black scrapbook paper and wrote messages with Magic Fly Liquid Chalk Markers. Voila! Lovely, custom place cards that were easy, inexpensive, and right on trend.

The MagicFly Liquid Chalk Markers were so easy to use. There are five markers included in the package with a bullet tip or a chisel tip, so depending on how artsy you are, you can create various effects.

They worked well on paper (although I had to go over some spots where I wanted more solid coverage). And, they work equally well on plastic, glass, and chalkboard painted pieces. With smooth surfaces, simply wipe off when you are done and you are ready for your next look.

The MagicFly Liquid Chalk Markers have a List Price of $19.99, but with Amazon Prime, you can receive them for only $7.99. This is the best deal I have seen on liquid chalk markers… and now I have ideas for all sorts of projects. Stay tuned!
