Simple silhouettes. Classic tailoring. Timeless style. Of course, I am referring to the new spring collection at Totokaelo! Totokaelo contemporary fashions are beautifully designed and thoughtfully selected fashion and objects. You’ll find absolutely gorgeous clothing, shoes and accessories for both women and men, plus objets d’art, furniture and even textiles.
The first boutique opened in Seattle, back in 2003 and is now housed in stunning a historic building on Capitol Hill. But, lucky for us, the fashion-conscious across the country (and around the globe!) can also shop at Totokaelo online. For those of us who believe that the art, fashion and objects we choose are a reflection of our unique personal perspective, a visit to Totokaelo is a must.
At Totakaelo, you’ll discover the exceptional work of artists and designers with an independent and thoughtful sense of beauty. For example, one of my favorite pieces is the Off White Apron Dress by Base Range, pictured. The firm, based in Denmark and France, favors a philosophy of creating clean lined, easy and accessible garments with a thoroughly modern take on the natural world.
The Base Range halter top dress has a lovely open back and delicate ties at the neck and back. Made of luxurious silk, this is a perfect dress for all spring events, from Saturday date night to a country club brunch with the parents.
I also love the Fresh Green Grass Clio Top by Acne Studios, shown. The pretty, sleeveless button up shirt is made of bright green silk with gold button accents. Paired here with traditional denim, this top is so adaptable, I would also use it under a jacket for work, with a white mini for drinks with the girls, or to dress up shorts for an easy (but chic!) summer look.
Acne (which actually stands for Ambition to Create Novel Expressions) is a top Swedish fashion house with a hip and often irreverent vibe. Although Acne boasts stores in major cities like London, Paris and Stockholm, now Totokaelo has made the same styles favored by celebs like Rihanna and Alexa Chung available to the rest of us! location for fashion design.
Another top pick is The Black / Royal Blue Long Blazer by Ann Demeulemeester, pictured. Ann Demeulemeester is a fashion designer whose exceptional collections are showcased at none other than Paris Fashion Week. She is also one of the infamous “Antwerp Six” and helped establish Antwerp as a notable fashion center.
Made in Belgium, the Ann Demeulemeester two-button blazer has a beautiful, long silhouette. Made of black silk rayon with an allover navy blue diamond pattern, this is a striking choice for chilly spring evenings on the town. And, the semi-sheer back is a showstopper!
Totokaelo CEO Jill Wenger is the owner and visionary. She is inspired by the artists she represents and believes in quality over quantity. The spring collection vividly reflects that vision with items that are thoughtfully selected, multi-functional and timeless. Rather than embracing – and abandoning – trend after trend, Wenger proposes investment in exceptional, quality pieces that will stand the test of time.
Although I’ve only highlighted three of my faves here, there are hundreds of simply stunning new spring arrivals from some of the world’s most contemporary designers at Totokaelo. To see the entire Totokaelo contemporary fashions collection, visit CLICK HERE.
