My father had a philosophy, which was likely due to living through the Great Depression. Whenever he was given something really special – from cufflinks to a cashmere jacket – he would “save it for best.”
When he passed away, tragically at the age of just 58, his closet, drawers, and jewelry box were filled with beautiful things he had barely used. Although I was only in my early 20s, I made a vow that I would never make the same mistake.
So, we eat in the dining room every evening. I always use my wedding crystal for my nightly glass of Chardonnay. I wear my most expensive perfume on a random Tuesday. And, most telling… I wear diamonds every single day.
My engagement ring, Art Deco diamond bracelet, and simple solitaire pendant all make regular appearances with work ensembles, as well as on the weekends. Certainly, I am not suggesting that I wear a diamond tiara to the grocery store. But, when I have these beautiful, beautiful pieces, how can I not want to enjoy them?

My favorite piece is the Aura Pendant, pictured. A brilliant single diamond surrounded by a constellation of smaller stones and set in white gold, this pendant is simply breathtaking. They say “a diamond is forever” and a piece like this will certainly be passed down in our family to one of my daughters and onward. Retail $3,550
