I just finished reading “How Does She Do It?” which was a (literally) laugh-out -loud funny book for working moms. (Yes, I know I am a little behind the times, but my stack of “to-read” books reaches from floor to ceiling.) It got me thinking about those of us who lead dual lives – working woman/mother. And, just how we can remain our former (pre-child), put-together selves (a stylish mom?) throughout the many and varied challenges we face every single day.
For example, I am a part-time working mom, pseudo stay-at-home mom AND part-time work-at-home mom (I am quite sure that adds up to more than one person!). My typical workday often involves all of the following, usually with no break in between: school drop off, client meeting, dog to the vet, stop at the grocery store, drop off paperwork at another client’s offices, attend child’s outdoor sporting event, family dinner, collapse.
With back-to-school just around the corner (and all of the extra events you’ll have to somehow shoehorn into your day), I wanted to offer a favorite, tried and true outfit that you can reach for and always look fabulous. Whether you are attending your son’s school play, hoofing it on the field to watch your daughter’s soccer match, or hammering out a deal with a new client, this ensemble will make you look confident and competent. And, don’t worry – the weekend is almost here!
