For me, nothing is better than curling up with a really great book. Believe it or not, when I was young, my parents used to threaten to take my books away, because I frequently would stay up until all hours with a flashlight under the covers, just to finish a particularly exciting story! Although a lot has changed in my life since I was a little girl, I am still passionate about my books (in 2002 I actually co-founded a literacy organization called Success Won’t Wait). And, I still have a tendency to stay up a bit too late, trying to get in “just one more chapter.” Lucky for me, I have a traded the clunky flashlight for a lightweight and thoroughly adorable pink clip on booklight from Glocusent.
This new booklight makes nighttime reading so much easier. It’s bright enough to read by, even if the rest of the room is in total darkness. But the light isn’t overly harsh. In fact, there are three brightness levels, so you can find the right intensity for you.
Plus, each of the settings is in an amber tone, to minimize eye strain. This is absolutely essential for me, as I cannot use overly harsh white or blue light, or I get incredible headaches.
This light also reflects color faithfully, so illustrations remain vivid. (As a child, I would have really appreciated this!)
And there are so many smart features. For example, it has an adjustable neck. So, you can position and reposition, aiming the light exactly where it’s needed.
It’s also small and easily portable, and so lightweight, it would be the perfect companion on a late night flight – without taking up too much room, or weight, in a carry-on bag.
