This Farmhouse Kitchen Anti Fatigue Mat Is More Than Just Charming Décor

This Farmhouse Kitchen Anti Fatigue Mat Is More Than Just Charming DécorI once baked 25 batches of chocolate chip cookies in one day. By 4:00 pm, I had to lie on the floor in between batches, just to get some relief to my neck, back and legs. Although I haven’t completed a marathon baking session like that in quite a while, muscle fatigue while cooking or washing dishes is still a real problem. So, I was excited to try this adorable farmhouse kitchen anti fatigue mat from Good Gram in a cute buffalo check.

The memory foam, while not nearly as thick as a memory foam mattress topper, still provides real relief while standing. And frankly, I don’t need to stand for long periods of time anymore before my back begins to ache!

Apparently, I am not alone, because according to a study cited in Environmental Health and Safety magazine, “standing for the 90-minute periods caused serious discomfort to the feet, legs and back of the study participants…the study also concluded that the use of anti fatigue mats can help prevent many of these health concerns.”

At 30 in. wide x 18 in. long, this durable mat is the perfect size for use in front of the sink or stove. And, it not only makes daily cooking and washing up much easier, it’s also easy to care for itself. The non-slip surface and slightly beveled edges ensure that it won’t become a tripping hazard. To clean, simply use a broom. Or in the case of wet spills, wash it off.

It’s also adorable, unlike industrial versions that are used in restaurants. The farmhouse plaid in a dark red/burgundy adds a distinctly country vibe to my mostly white kitchen. But, it’s also available in a crisp black and white check, as well as many lovely patterns from birdhouses, to sunflowers, to fruit, plus many more. Retail for the farmhouse plaid anti fatigue mat is $79.99, although prices vary widely depending on the pattern.

This is such a cute kitchen mat, I love the pattern! I never thought about how much having a mat under your feet helps until I starting for long periods of time in my kitchen. Talk about aches and pains! I really need to get a nice one like this. Thank you so much for sharing!

I love this!! Cute but also very much needed and helpful! With six people to feed in this house..let’s just say I know the feeling of back, neck and leg aches. Especially after working on concrete floors for years and carrying four babies with my 5’0 118 lb body! Lol Thank you so much for sharing!

Trust me, I never did it again! It was for an advertising agency where I worked for holiday gifts. I baked and one girl delivered hot cookies to our local, Delaware clients. It was a huge hit!
