Giveaway! Christopher Radko Mercury Glass Ornaments

Christopher Radko mercury glass ornaments giveawayIt appears that Christmas is coming early this year! Never before have I seen more news stories discussing early holiday shopping on television, incredible online holiday sales, or Christmas displays erected in stores well before Halloween. Since Christmas is “my holiday,” this has me absolutely energized. And, I simply can’t wait to unpack my ever-growing collection of mercury glass ornaments!

First produced in the 1840’s, mercury glass, also known as silvered glass, is a beautiful way to add sparkle and a glam accent to your tree this Christmas. Silvered glass was originally used as a reflective coating for mirrors. The revolutionary process involved blowing double walled glass which was then silvered between the layers and finally sealed.

Today’s reproduction mercury glass employs new manufacturing technology and can be distinguished from vintage versions in several ways, such as the lack of a double wall and a solid bottom. And today, the themes of mercury glass ornaments available run the gamut. Ice cream cones, Santas riding on snowmobiles, slices of pizza, and bears wearing tutus… the possibilities are endless.

One of the top sources worldwide for the highest quality mercury glass ornaments is the Christopher Radko Company. After a quarter century, the Christopher Radko Company has produced more than 15,000,000 fine European mercury glass ornaments!

Christopher Radko also produces Shiny-Brite™, a vintage-inspired line featuring recreations of uniquely American ornaments in styles first made popular in the 1940’s and 1950’s. (You may recognize some of these nostalgic shapes and colors from originals on your mother’s and even grandmother’s trees!).

Now, one lucky Susan Said… WHAT?! reader will receive a beautiful 3-piece set of mercury glass ornaments from Christopher Radko. This stunning ornament set includes one oversized and two smaller glass ornaments featuring whimsical gingerbread men and the big guy, Santa himself!

I have to say when I was 13 I had to make Christmas dinner since my Mom broke her knee cap . IT was alot of work yet everyone love the meal

In the fall of 1985 my husband (now my ex) and I moved back to our home state of Iowa with our four kids. The oldest one was six. My husband only worked part time and I stayed home with the kids. We lived in an old farm house at the end of the road. About a week or so before Christmas, a little red pickup pulls into our driveway. Santa gets out. He has a couple of presents each for the kiddos and also ones for my husband and me. To this day, 35 years later, I have no idea who was behind this.

My favorite memory is visiting my Uncle house for sandwiches, then my Grandma’s house for hot toddies and finally returning to our house for dessert on Christmas eve. Enjoying being with family and sharing gifts.

My xmas memories are of my childhood house (back in the 60’s) w/Dad’s FLOODLIGHT, retinal damaging videoing of us running down the hallway, rounding the corner and the 1st look at the xmas trees. Now that we’re grown; my parents have passed – I’m blessed to have these

Those videos are priceless! My dad also had a Super 8. No sound, which makes the films (and dramatically overdone pantomine) more fun somehow.

One of the best gifts I received was when I was a teen, my parents gave me a popcorn kit, that included a stovetop popcorn maker with variety of popcorn kernels.

I love vintage ornaments & ornaments that look like they are vintage.
I love the nostalgia of it all. I had a great uncle that always had his tree decorated with antique and vintage ornaments, the big teardrop Christmas lights, etc… I always loved going to his house during the holidays and
    admiring his decorations.
