Renewalize Apricot Oil Renews Hair and Skin

Renewalize Apricot Oil Renews Hair and SkinLately, I’ve discovered the power of essential oils in my daily beauty routine – I like Lavender oil to gently ease me to sleep, Peppermint in the shower to invigorate me for the day, and LAVO cleansing oil to remove makeup. It’s been something of a revelation, since as a teen and young adult I considered oil the enemy! The latest oil I’ve tried is Organic Apricot Kernel Oil by Renewalize. Although I love apricots, I never realized that the oil (derived from cold pressed apricot kernels) is rich in Vitamins A and E, along with the essential fatty acid Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA).

Who knew? I just thought apricots tasted delicious!

But after some research, I learned that those vitamins and fatty acids are actually incredibly powerful moisturizing and healing agents for both the skin and hair.

According to WebMD, when applied topically, Vitamin A can be used to treat a host of skin conditions, from acne, eczema, and psoriasis, to plain old dry skin.

And, Vitamin E is effective as an anti-aging tool. In fact, Vitamin E is such a powerful healing agent, it’s often used to protect skin against the effects of the damaging chemicals used in chemotherapy!

Since I am becoming something of an oil “expert,” I was excited to try the Organic Apricot Kernel Oil. What I found was that it is fast absorbing and reasonably non-greasy, so it massages directly into skin very well. Dry patches on elbows, knees and heels are a thing of the past! I found it particularly effective to camouflage the parched, peeling skin I had after a recent, mild sunburn.

I also tried a few drops in the bath for all-over moisturizing. I think that the slightly nutty aroma is pleasant, but you can also add other fragrances to the oil, using it as both a moisturizer and a delivery system.

In addition to use on skin, I learned that Organic Apricot Kernel Oil is also wonderful for hair. Apply a few drops (trust me, a few is all you need) to wet hair. Comb through well. Style as usual. You’ll see silkier, smoother hair the very first time you try it. And, it even helps restore shine to damaged and chemically treated hair (a major plus for me!).

If you’ve become an oil convert like I have, you’ll want to visit Renewalize for their wide variety of carrier oils such as Rosehip, Jojoba, Sweet Almond, and Avocado, as well as essential oils like Peppermint, plus many more. Every oil the company sells is certified organic by Quality Assurance International and adheres to strict USDA standards.

Organic Apricot Kernel Oil by Renewalize retails for $18.99.

I have never heard of this oil either. Sounds great, I would try it! It is probably good to use in the summer too if you are outside a lot.
