According to Harvard Health Publishing, in the article Importance of Sleep: Six Reasons not to Scrimp on Sleep, “A recent survey found that more people are sleeping less than six hours a night, and sleep difficulties visit 75% of us at least a few nights per week.” The experts say that chronic sleep loss can contribute to health problems such as weight gain, high blood pressure, and even a decrease in the immune system’s power. For a great night’s sleep, a comfortable mattress is essential. And, room darkening drapes, a white noise generator, and lavender pillow spray can all help. But, one of the most important (and most often overlooked) sleep aids, is a set of luxurious, high thread count sheets!
If you’ve ever slept on low thread count (or just worn out) sheets, you know that this can make all of the difference in a good night’s rest. I once purchased a set of pretty, deep wine-colored sheets simply to match a comforter, blithely ignoring the fact that the thread count was abysmally low. After only a week, they were relegated to the rag bag to become cleaning cloths!
I’ve tried many sets of high thread count luxury sheets since then. And, my new favorites are from linenly. These luxe bed sheets are actually made from organic, ethically produced bamboo.
I first discovered bamboo fabric ten years ago when I attended the Green Shows during New York Fashion Week. And, I’ve been a devoted convert to bamboo fabric ever since.
If you’ve never tried bamboo fabric, it’s truly amazing. Antibacterial and naturally hypoallergenic, bamboo is also wonderfully breathable. I have bamboo blouses, scarves and even washcloths. But, not all bamboo is created equally.
Made from 100% organic bamboo fiber, bamboo sheets from linenly are produced without any toxins or harmful substances. Proof positive? They come with Oeko-Tex certification, which ensures they are manufactured in accordance with organic guidelines and standards.
And, these bamboo sheets from linenly may be the softest, silkiest sheets you’ve ever slept on. The ultra-smooth texture feels more like satin than cotton. And, the 400 thread count sateen weave, actually equals a 1000 thread count in a cotton equivalent.
They are also generous in size with deep sides. These sheets fit mattresses up to 40 cm (which is perfect for me, since the memory foam topper adds extra depth to our mattress).
These sheets have even been pre-washed and pre-shrunk during the manufacturing process. Each set is shipped with detailed washing instructions to prevent any future shrinkage. Simply machine wash in cold, and tumble dry on low.
And, they are available is a huge variety of shades to match any bedroom, from classic White and Ivory, to Gray Blue, Steel Grey, Light Grey, Violet Pink, Forest, Olive Green, Platinum (my favorite, pictured) and Taupe. A complete set includes 1 Flat Sheet, 1 Fitted Sheet, and 2 Standard Pillowcases. Retail $164.95.
I think that you are going to love these high thread count sheets as much as I do. But, just in case you are not with your linenly products, the company is happy to offer you free exchanges or replacements within 30 days of your purchase.
Time for a nap!
