Druse, drusy or druzy? Whichever way you say it, this sparkling gemstone is always beautiful. Unlike traditional faceted gems such as emeralds, sapphires, or rubies, drusy is a gemstone with a natural surface texture akin to spilled sugar. In fact, the gems are the result of dissolved silica deposited in porous quartz.
Drusy’s shape comes from the variety of quartz upon which the crystals have formed. And, because so many varieties of quartz exist, there is a huge variation in the many shape and cuts available.
In addition to its spectacular texture, drusy is also highly prized for its shimmer and sparkle. The myriad facets reflect light for a fiery display.
And, drusy appears naturally in a vast array of shades from bright white, to every shade of pink, yellow, blue, violet, and more.

A few years ago, jewelry designers like Kendra Scott suddenly “discovered” drusy. And, today, there are amazing necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings of all shapes and sizes.
