Emerald cut cocktail rings… the shape of things to come!

emerald cut cocktail rings for fallI have always loved magazines and am a dedicated subscriber to quite a few. But, at this time of year, I become even more crazy about them. Around the holidays, the issues get fatter and fatter and fatter, jam packed with advertisements for gorgeous, lust-worthy items for every gal’s Christmas list.

From Ralph Lauren interiors, to Prada bags, to Tory Burch boots, it’s like a visual feast. But, nothing hits me quite like the jewelry ads. Sigh…

This year, while poring over my latest issues of Town and Country and Harper’s BAZAAR, I noticed that it’s once again “hip to be square” – or at least rectangular! Enormous, emerald cut and rectangular rings graced countless ads from Harry Winston‘s stunning canary diamond set in platinum, to Graff‘s beautiful-enough-for-a-royal emerald (with matching earrings, necklace and bracelet), to Le Vian‘s Gem of the Year, Peach Morganite set with colorless and chocolate diamonds.

It’s enough to make a jewelry-obsessed girl swoon!

Since mortgaging my home to buy a new bauble isn’t in my future, I did some hunting and found beautiful substitutes that are showstoppers in their own right. These rings will add that luxe finishing touch to any ensemble as the holiday festivities begin.

Hope you find one of an emerald cut sparkler under your Christmas tree!
