Office Outfits for the Real World

Office Outfits for the Real World Call me a stick in the mud, but I just can’t jump on board with some of the “trends” that designers are pushing this fall/winter – wide cropped trousers in winter, banana yellow jackets, androgynous looks, dominatrix-inspired leather – really? What if you are a 2nd grade teacher, or a pharmaceutical sales rep, or just a 47 year old housewife that runs the carpool? The trends that I can really understand are the ones that make sense for the season and the way real women live. Although they may look smashing on a 107-lb. 19 year old fashion model, I am simply not interested in wearing beaded corsets, oversized prints, or micro minis, especially when shopping for office outfits.

My ensemble today may not end up on a Paris runway, but I’ll bet it will look professional and very lovely in your office. Happy Monday morning!
