Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics… Flawless!

Youngblood mineral makeupWhen mineral makeup came out a few years back, I was so excited! Makeup that’s actually good for your skin? Count me in! My first foray into the world of mineral makeup was Cover Girl’s TruBlend translucent mineral powder. But I was extremely disappointed in the coverage. For me, this was no better than a regular compact of translucent powder. Maybe good for setting your makeup, but certainly not as a foundation. Next I tried Revlon’s Color Stay Mineral Foundation, and again, the flawless coverage they promised was just not there. If anything, the Revlon was even  lighter than the Cover Girl. I’d hit a wall and went back to my regular liquid makeup and stick concealer. (yuck!) But when I was contacted by Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, I figured I’d give mineral makeup one more try. And I’m so glad I did!

After trying Youngblood’s Natural Mineral Foundation (in a light, warm tone called Honey), I can see what all the hoopla is about! Youngblood’s mineral foundation is made of micronized, crystals that reflect light and smooth out fine lines and blemishes – giving your skin a finish that almost looks airbrushed.

All of Youngblood’s mineral cosmetics are made with pigments from the earth, so they’re much healthier than cosmetics containing petroleum dyes. According to the folks at Youngblood, minerals don’t support the growth of bacteria or microbes, plus they pose a lower risk of allergic reaction. So minerals are perfect for use on “problem skin” conditions like rosacea, acne, and discoloration.

Not only is the foundation amazing, Youngblood also has a huge range of other great products – that are all good for you. They offer beautiful blushes in a huge spectrum of colors so no matter what the season is, you can find a natural looking blush that will blend seamlessly with your foundation.

There’s also the ultimate mineral concealer. Instead of a sticky mess that creates creases after a few hours, this perfect blend of light-reflecting minerals makes the skin look smoother, draws attention away from dark circles, and diffuses tiny lines.

Youngblood also has a line of mineral mists that quench your skin with moisture and essential minerals. New Minerals in the Mist is a collection of three unique blends of pure essential oils, minerals, and vitamins for long-lasting hydration and protection. You just spritz it on after cleansing to lock in moisture, and then again after applying makeup to set your foundation. Beautiful!

But best of all are the mineral eye shadows. The eye shadows are subtle, blendable shades when they are applied dry – bold, radiant color when applied wet. The addition of mineral eye shadows to the line is especially important to me because many popular, commercial eye shadows are made with pulverized fish scales (yes, that’s not a typo) and I am highly, highly allergic. Youngblood mineral eye shadows are formulated with pure crushed minerals for long-lasting, hypoallergenic color!

Plus, Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics has a full line of fabulous lip liner pencils, lip shine, lipsticks, lip gloss – even a huge array of brushes  and lovely kits that would make perfect gifts.

You can purchase Youngblood online or visit the convenient store locator to find a retailer near you. Mineral makeup? If it’s from Youngblood, I’m a believer!
