Banish the frizzies!

Why is it that women always want what they don’t have? Brunettes long to be blond, brown-eyed girls lust after baby blues, and those of us with curly hair fantasize about long, sleek tresses.

Personally, I’ve been fighting the frizz since I was a kid. I keep my hair quite long to weigh it down and pull out the curl. I blow dry it within an inch of its life, since leaving it even slightly damp can provide truly tragic results. I use products like Frizz-ease. But when the humidity is high or when it rains, I resemble nothing less that a miserable poodle in the groomers’ washtub!

That’s why I was so thrilled to receive a sample of the new Remington Wet-to-Style straightener! The straightener comes in a slim 1” plate size, a 2” wide plate and a 2” curved plate for very natural looking waves.

Why blow dry and then straighten? This great straightener does double duty — drying your hair and ironing it at the same time. The Remington’s special vents allow the steam from wet hair to escape (so it doesn’t just fry). And since I color my hair, any elimination of extra heat processes is crucial and will keep my hair from looking like haystack.

The ability to use this straightener wet could seriously change my life. Anyone who knows me can attest to that fact that I spend an inordinate amount of time watching the weather and bemoaning the fact that I can’t were a beret indoors to work!

But now, sudden shower on the way to work? Hey, no problem. I’ll just throw my wet-to-style straightener in my tote. 5 minutes in the company ladies’ room and I’m ready for that big meeting. In a hurry on the weekend? Skip the blow drying step, and I might even make it to the movies on time (a  first, I assure you!).

Want one, too? The Remington straightener is available at Kmart in the 1” slim plate configuration for only $29.99. At Walmart you can pick up the 2” plate version for only $24.22. Or try Target for the Remington Wet-2-Style Curved Straightener, a bargain (and my personal favorite) for only $27.99.

I’m ready to say goodbye to the frizzies …forever!
