How many of you have made it your New Year’s Resolution to get healthier and more fit this year? I have to admit, it’s been my resolution each and every year since I can remember – and truthfully, some years are more successful than others! This year, however, I have a great reason to get fit – chic Heart & Core workout gear. If you aren’t familiar with this firm, you should be! The Heart & Core story is one that really touched me. The firm was founded by two sisters after a shopping expedition with their mom, a breast cancer survivor. Looking for a high-impact sports bra without underwire proved frustrating and ultimately, futile.
With this in mind, Jen (a certified personal trainer and massage therapist) and Lara (a marketing communications specialist) went to work and designed a line that focuses on women’s real needs – but doesn’t ignore their desire to look gorgeous! Their sports bras provide unparalleled support and style, and all of their pieces are of exceptional quality, with some truly unique designs. Plus, Heart & Core fitness wear is made of super-soft, wicking fabric dries almost instantly.
One of the best parts about their line, though, is that this fitness wear doesn’t look out of place on the street. After hitting the gym, you can grab a latte (low fat, of course) and not feel like a frump. I particularly like the Active Fit Ruched Tee, which is available in my signature color – bright Barbie pink. Tailored for style, this t-shirt moves with you easily as you walk, run, ride or lift weights. The best part? The ruched sides adjust in length, so you can wear it sleek and long, or blouse it out to camouflage (temporary!) problem areas.
The t-shirt pairs nicely with the firm’s Active Fit Foldover Capri , which could possibly be the best workout pants ever invented (seriously). The firm’s hallmark, adjustability, is found here, too. The foldover waistband goes as high (or low!) as you like. They are so comfortable, you’ll want to wear them all the time. And because they are neither skin tight nor baggy, they truly flatter most women’s legs.
Now that I look so cute, I guess I’d better hit the gym. And of course, summer is only 174 days away…
