Jewelry designers at Jody Coyote were inspired by the Art Nouveau movement of the early 20th century and subsequent revival in the 1960s. The original proponents of the Art Nouveau movement drew inspiration from both organic and geometric forms, evolving these shapes into elegant designs.
Two of my favorite pieces from the collection are the “Gold-plated Fiddlehead Motif Hoop Earrings” and the “Silver-plated Butterfly Motif Hoop Earrings,” both pictured. Sinuous lines a distinctive tumbled sand finish give all of the pieces in the Nouveau Collection a sophisticated look.
The gold hoops are plated with 18K gold and the silver hoops are silver plated. Both are hypoallergenic, plus, the silver plated earrings have a tarnish-resistant coating. The retail price for both of these striking styles is $20.99.
The quality of two examples is truly representative of the entire Jody Coyote line, which includes such diverse pieces as black-and-white classics in the Tuxedo Collection, the understated elegance of the Estate Collection, and even fashion forward pieces found in the Avant-Garde Collection — and so much more.
The Jody Coyote brand actually began in Eugene, Oregon during the 1970’s when a local artisan started selling handcrafted earrings at fairs throughout the Pacific Northwest.
