Self Heating Face Mask is Hot Stuff

A self heating face mask for dry or mature skin? 3 BIG benefitsSelf heating face mask? When I read the product description, I thought that surely those four words could not belong together. Was I ever wrong!

This self heating face mask from Vivo Per Lei provides an amazing spa-like experience. The mask contains Vitamin A Retinol, Bentonite, Kaolin, and Aloe Vera, as well as Vitamins C and E. And, when you slather it on your face, it warms up on contact like magic… or chemistry. That’s because the self heating thermal process is actually a chemical reaction. Certain chemicals produce an exothermic response that instantly generate heat.

How to use the self heating face mask

The mask comes packaged with a tiny trowel with which to apply it, as pictured. Until I actually used it for myself, I didn’t quite understand the real necessity for it. But, since the mask heats instantly on contact, this tiny trowel keeps fingers safe.

Simply slather it onto your face, taking care to avoid eyes, lips and hair line. The mask is the consistency of peanut butter, and a little goes a long way. (It also smells wonderful, like a crazy cross between high end shampoo and a bakery.)

A self heating face mask for dry or mature skin? 3 BIG benefitsLeave the self heating face mask on for approximately 10 minutes, for maximum effectiveness. I was worried that it would be too long (since the mask makes skin feel toasty). But, it was a surprisingly relaxing experience, a bit like sitting with a heating pad on a sore back. You wouldn’t want to do it all day, but it’s wonderfully pleasant in the short-term.

Rinse off the mask completely with cool water. I used a soft, bamboo washcloth, as well, to make sure every trace was removed.

Voila! My skin had a freshly scrubbed, pink look. And, it was so soft and smooth!

What is so special about this face mask?

I have used many face masks over the years. And, apart from the “coolness factor” I wondered what this mask did that was so special. What I found was that the addition of heat really makes a difference.

  • First, the heat allows the ingredients to work more quickly and efficiently. In addition, heat encourages skin circulation (resulting in my rejuvenated, pinked-up complexion).
  • Next, the self heating face mask works in the same way as a steam facial to open your pores and get a deeper clean, as well as detoxify the skin.
  • Finally the mask works to diminish the look of both fine lines and deep wrinkles. The soft, smooth skin revealed is healthier and younger looking.

This mask works best on dry or mature skin to improve skin texture and appearance. But, those with combination or oily skin can also benefit.

A word of caution: If you have overly sensitive skin, I would encourage you to do a patch test before using on your entire face. Although I had no adverse reactions, it’s always best to be cautious when sensitive skin is an issue.

The Self Heating Face Mask by Vivo Per Lei is available on Amazon in a 1-pack for  $25.95 or a 2-pack for $46.00.
