Did you know that approximately 1 in 8 women born in the US today will get breast cancer in their lifetime? According to the experts at BreastCancer.org, approximately about 12% of women will develop invasive breast cancer. And in 2016 alone, an estimated 246,660 new cases are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S. — plus, 61,000 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer. Breast cancer is the second most common kind of cancer in women.
But, there’s good news!
Women can survive breast cancer if it’s detected and treated early. So, an annual mammogram is crucial. In fact, there are 2.8 million survivors today.
