Signet rings offer updated style

Signet rings with style

A must-have this fall!

Signet rings have a long and storied history and were first used by the Pharaohs of Egypt over 4000 years ago. These beautiful rings were originally intended as symbols of authority and power.

Today, signet rings are more than simply seals for important documents. Designers have taken this very traditional concept and updated it for 2016. Signet rings now offer a wonderful way to express interests, heritage, and personal style.

In addition to a basic monogram, the face of the signet ring may display gems, images, heraldic crests, coats of arms, shields… even filigree. Gorgeous!

If you would like to incorporate a signet ring into your fall wardrobe, there are options in a wide range price points. For example, the 14K gold-plated signet ring by BaubleBar (top row above) is only $52. Or, the stunning Jade Trau 14K oval signet ring (pictured in middle row) is studded with diamonds and will set you back $2,200.

Another option is to choose and oversized men’s signet ring. When choosing a ring designed for a man, however, be careful of fit. Even when sized properly for your finger, make sure that ring width is comfortable.

Above are a few of my personal top picks. However, many other choices are available at your favorite retailer. I found many lovely signet rings at Nordstrom and Saks.

This fall, I’m going for the brass ring! And the silver… and the gold…
