Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved to decorate for Christmas. Now that I have a home of my own, I’m thrilled to recreate the magic of my younger years for my own family. And for me, that means trees. Lots of trees.
My family says that I have a problem. My response is: it’s only six Christmas trees… what’s the problem?!
At my house, each room has a Christmas theme. The living room boasts a white, gold and crystal tree based on one I fell in love with at the world-renowned Longwood Gardens Christmas display when I was just 16 years old. The dining room tree is covered in vintage toys. The kitchen tree sports cookie cutters, gingerbread men and even wooden spoons (and yes, I have a tree in my kitchen). There’s a sports memorabilia tree in the workout room and an equestrian themed tree in the foyer.
But, the tree that eclipses all of the others is the all mercury glass tree in the den. This 8’ tall fragrant pine is groaning under the weight of hundreds of beautiful mercury glass ornaments collected through the years.
