Go bright or go home! Dieci Colori makeup line offers a huge selection of trendy brights for Spring 2013

Dieci Colori Mineral Blush, 2013I spent the past weekend on the waterfront at the Baltimore Invitational Regatta. My daughter was rowing. My friends were all there. And, it was a gorgeous, sunny spring weekend. Perfection!

Since the weather was cooperating, I thought I’d christen some of my new spring clothes. Cabled cotton sweaters, crisp capris, and even a floppy straw hat. As I donned my new duds, I suddenly realized how… ahem… bright they were!

In fact, “brights” are a fashion trend to be reckoned with this spring. If you are a pastel fan you’ll have to look long and hard, because bright colors – Kelly green, lemon yellow, Windex blue – are simply everywhere.

I’ve always been a fan of brights (my daughter calls me a die-hard 1980’s preppy, which is true). Two of my all-time favorite items are a Ralph Lauren cardigan in shocking pink (which I tie around my shoulders, channeling Lisa Birnbach) and a Kelly green and white Ellen Allen handbag. Both are years old. And, both continue to draw compliments every time I wear them!

If you’re not sure just how bright you want to go, one of the easiest and least expensive ways to “dip your toe in the water” is through makeup. Yes, you read that correctly. For the cost of a hot pink lipstick, you can add instant spring-2013 style to any ensemble.

My recommendation is the Dieci Colori makeup line. For years, this has been one of my favorite lines and this spring, they have a full arsenal of brights for every complexion.

For example, the new Lip Suede collection includes a shocking pink (Matte V) that is simply electric and looks great paired with new spring colors. The Lip Suede lipstick is creamy with a nice matte finish. The formula includes rich pigment and an opaque color that lasts and lasts. Retail $20.

If bright lips are too Belinda Carlisle for you, try one of the new Dieci Color Mineral Blushes. These blushes are amazing! Their hypoallergenic formula is kind to skin and provides a satin-like texture, creating a healthy glow. Retail $22.

The Dieci Colori makeup line was created by makeup artist Marie Gaglioti in 2003.
