Spring Green Fashion: The Runway Statement

Spring Green Fashion, The Runway StatementCall it wishful thinking, but I actually saw the first signs of spring yesterday in my garden – clusters of energetic daffodils pushing their determined way through the hard packed soil in my front garden! Signs of green in the barren winter landscape are such a welcome relief, that I imagine fashion designers are almost as starved for color as I am. And, what better way to herald the season than by creating fresh spring green fashion essentials?

In fact, the 2012 runways were filled with all things green, including the widely touted “Margarita” green – one Pantone’s Top 10 Colors for Spring. Stunning evening wear, office wear and resort wear sported a variety of shades – from kelly to pistachio.

And, Kermit the Frog’s lament aside (“It’s not easy being green”) I find green to be one of the simplest colors to add to a wardrobe. Pair it with gray, tan, beige, white, navy … or if you are bolder, add dashes of green to pink or citrus-y hues.

Here are some inspirational pieces that will have you clamoring for spring!
