Today is the most romantic day of the year, so I was excited to highlight one of the most romantic fabrics ever – trendy lace! Nostalgic lace is still a hot trend for Spring, but how best to wear lace without looking like Madonna circa 1985?
In a word – color. For me at least, black is out (unless it’s cocktail wear). Somehow, black lace in the boardroom is just a little too close to black lace in the bedroom. Not a message I want to send!
Fortunately, this Spring you’ll find lace pieces in a rainbow of subtle shades, including the muted pastels that are my personal favorites.
I’ve chose a few distinctive items to highlight and you’ll probably want them all – but, a word of caution – lace is incredibly easy to overdo. One piece per look should be perfect.
